BIO

Katrina Tompkins is a studio furniture designer and maker. Katrina studied Furniture Design and Fabrication at Sheridan College (2009) receiving The Sam Maloof Scholarship to Anderson Ranch Colorado, The Ontario Wood Council Award for Design using Ontario Forestry Products, and the Green Rooms Award for Sustainable Design. Her work has been published in Fine Woodworking Magazine, Design Book, and 500 Cabinets, and in 2010 Katrina was featured on the documentary series Junk Raiders.

Katrina is a contributor to community associations such as The Stop, Focus Regent Park and PDA. In 2010 Katrina launched Tinsel & Sawdust, an evolving collective bringing awareness and collaborative spirit to the community and maintains a studio in Dufferin Grove, Toronto. Katrina teaches Furniture Design at OCAD U.
