Born and raised in Vancouver, B.C., Laura McKibbon has been working in clay for the past eight years. A self-taught artist with a background in science, Laura is best known for her distinct line of functional ceramics which incorporates photography, printmaking and computer techniques.
In addition to her production line, Laura exhibits regularly and her work has been collected internationally. She has been invited to present her work and participate in artist residencies all over the world, including Australia, Denmark and Finland and has received numerous grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and the B.C. Arts Council.
Her work can be found adorning the cover of the Gardiner Museum catalogue 100 Years of Functional Ceramics in Canada and is featured in several ceramic publications including Gestalten’s Fragiles: Porcelain, Ceramics and Glass, Ceramics and Print (3rd ed. Paul Scott) and the upcoming Lark Book publication 500 Prints on Clay.
